Shipping & Returns

Policy Overview

We ship out orders in 1-3 working days after successful payment. Packaging are all recyclable or recycled – no new plastic are used (100% plastic-free packaging possible on request). Import taxes and duties may apply.

Our refund and returns policy lasts 90 days since purchase date. We can’t offer you a refund or exchange if the 90 days have elapsed. To be eligible for a return or exchange, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Virtual products are non-refundable.


Shipping

We ship to wherever the Irish national post (An Post) ships to. You may also choose Parcel Connect (Fastway Couriers) and DPD depending on order destination. Orders are shipped out in 1-3 working days after payment confirmation. We will keep you updated!

The rates are calculated by weight and destination along with a €0.50 surcharge for packaging costs. Weight of packaging is already taken into account. If you find a cheaper/preferred way for us to ship to you then please let us know and we will make it available for you!

Items shipped with the above methods will be wrapped with maximum protection (think cardboard) and secured with strong paper tape. The parcel will not be able to fit through the letterbox.

Items shipped with this method will be wrapped securely with recycled kraft paper and taped up with strong paper tape. To fit the letterbox dimension no cardboard protection can be used.

Local Pickup

You are welcome to drop by Castlebar (County Mayo) to pick up your order and also choose to pay cash. Just leave a note when you put in the order as to when you’d like to come by and we will get back to you to arrange a suitable time.


Eco Packaging

We only use recyclable or recycled packaging.

As we are a small family business, it is less eco-friendly to always use new paper packaging than it is to use upcycled plastic material that we already have. Most of the time, we use 100% paper packaging but sometimes we ship with a small amount of upcycled plastic packaging. We hope you can reuse & recycle too!

If you are on a plastic-free mission, just ask us to use no plastic in the order notes 🙂

What you will find in our packaging:

  • upcycled and recycled paper & (rarely) plastic
  • easy-to-clean, easy-to-peel stickers
  • minimal and simple branding with hand-carved stamps
  • ‘naked’ (packaging-free) products (where possible)
  • reusable containers
  • no delivery note printout

Stickers, Branding and Container Reusability

Those pesky stickers that don’t like to be torn off of surfaces are our pet peeves. You won’t find them on our products. Instead, we use water-activated tape stamped with hand-carved stamps or sleeves made from recycled paper to label our products. They are easy to peel off and easy to clean using just water.

We try to offer most products naked – as in no packaging. But when some products require some ‘clothing’ – like essential oil roller bottles – we source high quality containers that will allow you to reuse and do your own DIY for many more times to come. There will not be any permanent branding that would prevent you from reusing.


Returns

If for any reason you are not happy with your order, you can return it to us, please send an email to request the return address.

Once your return is received, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. After inspection, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If it is approved, your refund will be processed and a credit (equal to the same amount you paid for minus shipping) will automatically be applied to your card or original method of payment within 7 days. The amount refunded will be excluding any shipping costs and currency exchange fees if applicable.

Non-refundables include:

  • Virtual Products (such as PDF downloads)
  • Shipping costs

Lost and Damaged Items

When normal mail is used for shipping the order, we cannot offer refunds or exchanges in the event of lost or damaged orders.

We will only be able to issue a refund if the shipping method you chose is insured. We kindly ask you to retain all packaging and send us photos within 24 hours of receipt in order for us to submit a claim to the courier.

Shipping Returns

You will be responsible for paying the shipping cost for returning the items.

Please contact us via email (gentlelivingshop at protonmail.com) and we will let you know the return address.

Exchanges

If you are eligible for a refund and would like to order something else, we can also offer an exchange.

You can exchange any unused item for another item in stock with the same or lower minimum price. You will be responsible for the shipping cost for returning the item as well as for the new item to be sent to you.
